FTW Isla

Isla is a very special addition to our lineup at SOK. Her trip across the pond started with a dinner-table conversation at a Scottish cottage right before the 2025 IGL Retriever Championship. Her owner, Wendy Glue, and handler, Paul Dukes, had so many wonderful things to say about her. She is the offspring of Wendy’s champion FTCh Tanyrhallt Blue Bloods, making her a grandson of FTW Copperbirch Ross. Her dam, FTCh Tagabea Pretty Thing of Luddesdown, is from a pair of lines that have been very influential in both producing UK champions as well as the foundation lines of SOK.

Beyond a champion-to-champion pedigree and phenomenal health tests results, Isla is the perfect balance of drive and calm. She is a “pocket-rocket” in the field, going out and coming back with blistering pace. She hits water like it owes her money, and she shreds cover with more style than any dog we’ve had. In the house, she is as calm and peaceful as can be. She’s become the permanent “lodge dog” at SOK Headquarters, and we can’t wait to hunt over her this fall.

Isla’s trip to American included not just her but nine beautiful pups, born just five weeks after her arrival. Her first litter, sired by FTCh Jarailstar Hogen of Stauntonvale, produced some incredibly bold and strong puppies. We’ve kept several back to raise for the future of SOK, and we look forward to doing the same with all of Isla’s future litters. We’d like to thank Wendy for trusting us to take care of her special girl, it means more than words can say.
